New England Blues Summit at Cape Cod Resort

Rhythm Room Entertainment and ESP Sound Systems recently announced that New England's premiere blues event is back in Hyannis, MA for the 2nd Annual New England Blues Summit. This year's summit runs from April 28-30. Once again the event will be held at the Cape Cod Resort and Conference Center. They are holding 220 rooms for attendees at the summit. Single day tickets can be purchased, or an entire weekend pass including a room at the resort with meals included.
The summit's humble beginnings started in 1990 by John Hall of Rhythm Room Entertainment, formerly Rhythm Room Records in Marshfield, MA. John has since started the North River Blues Festival and The Green Harbor Roots Festival in addition to holding a board position on the Boston Blues Society.
Last year's inaugural New England Blues Summit was headlined by Samantha Fish and Joe Louis Walker. This year's headlining acts will be Shemekia Copeland, Tommy Castro and Mike Zito. Featured at this resort will be national blues performers as well as regional acts and discussion panels.
BANDS ON MY RADAR:

Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish - Johnny recently earned the Martha's Vineyard Creative Living Award, presented annually to a resident for enriching the quality of life there. Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish having been making tourists and locals dance on the island since 1991.

Willie J. Laws Band - Bringing his Texas Gulf Coast raised blues to Boston, the Willie J. Laws Band is one of New England's biggest blues acts. He was nominated for the New England Music Awards 2015 & 2016 Best Blues Act and also the Boston Music Awards 2016 Blues Artist of the Year. Willie is even a Navy veteran, easily earning him my respect and attention from that alone.
